Today, we officially inaugurated Containership’s new combined feeder and short sea line that has been operating at the Port of Norrköping for a few weeks. The interest was great and we welcomed a mix of freight forwarders, agents and goods owners. Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to Joel Smith, Acting Director General at the Swedish Maritime Administration who participated and presented the Swedish Maritime Administration’s activities to us!
Since the end of November, Containerships is operating the Port of Norrköping with its new line connecting the Baltic Sea ports of Klaipeda and Gdynia with Norrköping.
The line also provides new connections to Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven in Germany. This opens for opportunities for increased accessibility to efficient and sustainable transport for the business community in the region.
The new offering consists of 40- and 45-foot pallet-wide container solutions from Klaipeda to the Port of Norrköping and from the Port of Norrköping to Gdynia without transhipment. Door-to-door deliveries by truck or rail and trucks are offered to and from Norrköping all over Sweden. The pallet-wide containers offer the same loading space as a trailer – 33 EU pallets. Door-to-door transport with the lowest possible environmental impact.
